If I go to the california vital record office in person to request for a birth certificate, will they give it to me that day or will i have to wait till they mail it to me later? I need my birth certificate asap.

I am in North Carolina. I have heard different responses from different people and have had no luck getting answers from the Register of Deeds or the Office of Vital Records on the issue. I would really like for our son to have his father’s last name. Does anyone know if we can make this possible before a wedding? Thanks!
I forgot to mention that he has been legally seperated for 1.5 years but the nasty divorce has not been finalized and, most likely, will not be by October when baby comes…..

I got arrested from my job for stealing they said they had me on video which they refused to show me. I stupidly confessed to stealing the items and i got arrested. When i saw my public defendent she told me that it was a misdemeanor charge and she made a deal with the prosecutor for me to take a shoplift class then bring the paper work back to the judge to prove i did it and then in 6mths my case would be dissmissed. I have never gotten in trouble before and i wanted to know if there is any way i can get this off my record and when the cases is dismissed does that mean it will stay on my record forever. I have no idea how this works. PLEASE HELP!

I would. He is spying on us, has lied to us, and is engaging in criminal behavior by assisting Cheney in hiding records and refusing to release the records. We own the records and he has no right to deny me what is mine.

I recently got arrested in CA for the possession of illegal drugs which is a felony. I went to court last week and they gave me divergence. Meaning if I take all the classes and stay clean for six months they will dismiss the case. I am applying and interviewing with many high paying jobs. Will the employer find out about my divergence and arrest records. Please HELP!!!!

What type of lawyer does my friend need to get to help him obtain a copy of his birth certificate? He received a notice from the vital statics office for New York City that they cannot locate his birth certificate. He was born 38 years ago and has has no contact with his mother and father for many many years. It seems that they were from Costa Rica and they abandoned him to return there. He does not know what hospital he was born in, but he does have a copy of his baptismal certificate that shows he was born around Brooklyn, NY.
My friend lives in So Florida. Going to NY is not really an option for him right now.

When I apply for a job, the application asks me if I have ever been convicted. NO, i haven’t. But I do want to be honest.
